Linx offers help and support to young people who are not in education, employment or training, to help them find the right job, course, college or school. Staff also work with young people who are at risk of becoming NEET, for example, young people who are about to leave school or college, young people who are at risk of being suspended from their school or at risk of losing their job. Staff can provide one-to-one support tailored to each individual.
This support can include help applying for jobs or benefits, advice about benefits, help writing a CV, researching local colleges or schools, jobsearching, mentoring, support to attend appointments, help finding apprenticeships or training opportunities, and practicing interview skills. Young people can also access computers at Linx for their independent jobsearch, CV-writing and research.
OCN Accredited Life Skills Course
Linx also runs Life Skills courses, including basic numeracy and literacy, IT and communication skills, advice about living independently, employability skills, First Aid, healthy eating and cooking, alcohol and drug awareness, sexual health, relationships, body image, assertiveness and confidence.
